I am a cultural anthropologist with experience in medical anthropology, applied/engaged anthropology, human geography, and urban planning. My research interests focus on cross-cultural experiences of disability and bodily differences. This includes dissertation research on disability in Ecuador, research with military veterans, and a project on spatial approaches to accessibility and the built environment.

Other areas of interest include governmentality and biopolitics, Latin America, anthropology of health, violence, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), political economy, collective identity, social movements, social costs of armed conflict, and participatory research. I try to practice engaged scholarship, and admire my colleagues who are dedicated to making their research relevant, applicable, and understandable.
